It is recommended that student submissions should be single spaced, 12 pt font, not to exceed 750 words. The use of generative AI or large language models is strictly prohibited and can result in disqualification.

Each Congressional office can determine their own prompt; however, examples are included below.

Prompt 1:  What do you value about American Constitutional democracy and what are your hopes for its future? 

Prompt 2: How do you view your generation’s role and responsibility as an active participant in America’s democracy?

Prompt 3: What makes our democratic system of government strong and what are the challenges that weaken it?
